Sleep Point

A Community for Parents Navigating Baby Sleep

Join a free, volunteer-led space offering evidence-based sleep information, empathy, and connection for families with infants and toddlers.

Hi, I'm Sofiya

A mother.
An infant & Toddler sleep specialist.
An advanced Solihull approach practitioner.
A breastfeeding peer supporter.

I created Sleep Point as a volunteer-led community project offering free, evidence-based sleep education and support to families in Bristol.

As a parent and professional, I’ve seen how confusing and overwhelming baby sleep advice can be. Everywhere you look, there are quick fixes and strict schedules that don’t reflect how babies are naturally wired. I started Sleep Point because I strongly believe that:

  • Responsive parenting, like bed-sharing, feeding to sleep, and meeting your baby’s needs through closeness, is not only normal, but healthy and developmentally supportive.

  • Parents need support to understand biologically normal infant sleep and to feel confident leaning into it, not fighting against it.

  • Every family deserves access to gentle, compassionate sleep support without financial barriers.

Sleep Point provides free support and resources to help families feel reassured, informed, and confident. But this isn’t just about getting sleep support, it’s about becoming part of a welcoming community of parents navigating similar challenges. Together, we share experiences, support one another, and build confidence in understanding and responding to our children’s needs.

Rooted in connection,
not in control

A different kind of sleep support

At Sleep Point we believe that you deserve support that honours both your baby’s biology and your own well-being. Here, we lean into responsiveness, evidence, and intuition, not rigid rules. We view sleep through the lens of relationships, reflecting the principles of the Solihull Approach - understanding your baby’s emotions, responding with sensitivity, and supporting secure attachment.

Common sleep challenges that families face and we can exlpore together

Frequent night waking

Frequent night waking can be really tough, but it’s also a normal part of your child’s development.
We can talk through what’s happening, what’s realistic for this stage, and how to make things a bit easier, in a way that works with your child’s biology and their need for closeness.

False starts at bedtime

Your baby falls asleep, only to wake 20-40 minutes later like bedtime never happened? Together we can explore what might be contributing - whether it's timing, transitions, or something els, and find a way to support your child through that.

Bedtime battles and resistance

Your child resists sleep with everything they’ve got? We take a compassionate look at what’s underneath the resistance and how to create a more connected, less stressful bedtime rhythm.

Early rising

5am wake-ups? Earlier? We can explore why your child is waking with the birds and how to gently nudge mornings later, while respecting their unique sleep needs.

Moving away from co-sleeping

Maybe co-sleeping has served your family beautifully but now it's starting to feel less sustainable.

Whatever your reason, making a change can bring up a lot of feelings, and that’s completely okay. You don’t have to rush it or figure it all out alone. We can talk it through and find a way forward that still keeps connection at the centre, for your little one, and for you.

Making changes to how your baby falls asleep

Looking to make changes to how your baby or toddler falls asleep? Together, we can gently explore what’s prompting that change, whether now is the right time, and how to move forward in a way that honours your child’s need for closeness, comfort, and security.

Difficult naps

Your baby resists naps, or only sleeps for short stretches but still looks tired?

Whether you’re in the thick of a nap transition or just trying to make naps feel a little less stressful, together we can explore what's developmentally normal and how you can make things more sustainable.

Only one caregiver can settle

Your child strongly prefers one caregiver for sleep, and that’s leaving someone burned out (and someone else feeling left out)? We can discuss strategies for gradually introducing an additional settler in a way that feels safe and supportive.

Kalia, mum of 9 months old Dimitris who was only able to nap in his stroller, and was also struggling to fall asleep in his cot at night.

"With Sofiya's help, we were able to get our little one to sleep peacefully during all naps, without needing to be rocked in the stroller. At night, he now falls asleep in his crib by himself, simply with our presence in the room. Sofiya also explained what normal sleep patterns were for a child of that age, which gave us so much reassurance and confidence that we weren’t doing anything wrong.

We are deeply grateful for her support and guidance! Thank you so much!"

It’s an honor to walk alongside families on their sleep journey.
